ISSUES of IMPORTANCE
SOLUTIONS for TRAFFIC and CONGESTION
Black Diamond is projected to increase in size to 20,000 people over the next decade. City planning must actively consider the increase of vehicular, pedestrian, and cyclist traffic. Part of that involves comprehensive Transportation Improvement Plans, which Black Diamond has through 2026.
With an eye on anticipated growth, and oversight of existing plans, I would make sure city resources are devoted to congestion mitigation plans that make sense. I would value public input and considerations for all of Black Diamond, and ensure future growth does not bypass the Historical District. And I would advocate for our city at the state level to make sure our community isn’t an afterthought for Highway 169 improvements or changes.
